ReplyDeleteWonderful comment Cynthia and good luck!!!! :)
DeleteSherry m: If one thing doesnt work when comes to getting baby to calm down keep trying differnt methods to see what works sometimes baby doesnt like certain positions.
ReplyDeleteGreat tip and thanks for the comments. :)
DeleteYou can find great low cost clothes at garage sales, consignment stores, goodwill, and salvation army stores. No need to spend hundreds on something that the baby will out grow in a few months. Skip the actual shoes till the baby can actually crawl or walk.
ReplyDeleteI definitely like the finding low cost clothes at local consignments. Thanks Samantha!!! :)
DeleteThe main things your baby needs is your love, food, clothing and a place to sleep. Don't over-do it with buying stuff. Save some of that money for college!
ReplyDeleteI do agree. Saving for college is a great tip! :) Thanks for sharing Beth.
DeleteSleep when you can. You will always need a change of clothes and diapers and wipes in your car
ReplyDeleteSmiles - this is definitely true. :) Thanks Jennie for the comment.
DeleteMy niece just had her first baby a week ago and I told her to try to sleep when baby sleeps and to try to relax as much as possible because then the baby will also be much more relaxed.
ReplyDeleteSleep now!
ReplyDeleteTo have patience. It's so easy to get upset or yell out when it gets to frustrating. The lack of sleep, the constant tending to baby but you have to realize that babies are selfish, they cry when they want something, its their nature and they know no different, you have to be patient and in time you'll know what each cry, whimper and whine is for. You can't get upset at them, you have to just smile and remember patience is key. =D
ReplyDeleteMy biggest tip is to cherish all the early moments, good or bad. They go by way too quick!

My tip is don't turn down help

Sleep well and have patience! :)
ReplyDeletesleep when baby sleeps.
ReplyDeleteHave confidence in what you know and feel as a parent. Only YOU know what's best for your child.
ReplyDeletesleep whenever you can
ReplyDeleteYou don't need half the baby stuff everybody tells you to get.
ReplyDeleteSpend some time together before the baby arrives.
ReplyDeleteAlways remember there is no right or wrong way to parent, your way is what is best for baby :)
ReplyDeleteCherish this time!
ReplyDeleteSleep as much as you can before baby comes, it will be a very very long time before you get a long, good sleep again..:-)
ReplyDeleteDon't be so hard on yourself!
ReplyDeleteSpend as much time with your baby they grow up way to quick. If you breastfeed have patience and keep trying it does get easier.
ReplyDeletedon't worry about your daily chores at first- just sleep when you can!

I think buying second hand clothes for your baby is best than buying brand new, kids grow our of their clothes so fast, especially in the first couple of months. Doing this saves a lot of money and hassle, -unless, you plan on keeping the baby's stuff for your next baby, or for when the baby grows up :)
ReplyDeleteyou should try and take naps while the baby is sleeping or napping and use Ebay to buy some slightly used or new clothes
ReplyDeleteI would give them babysitting gift certificate and a gift card for dinner so they can get out. Also, diapers, wipes and blankies.
ReplyDeleteI would say do not stress the small stuff, enjoy your baby because in the blink of an eye their first birthday will roll around! Do not be afraid to buy secondhand and cherish every moment
ReplyDeleteI would say rest as much as you can and enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy life!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time they grow up so fast
ReplyDeleteMy tip is to know that every baby/child is different and don't feel bad if things don't go exactly as the books say they should, it will all work out.

My sister just had a baby yesterday! My tip to her because she couldnt get her to ear was to rub the nipple across the mouth slowly then she will open up and eat. Just keep at it she will learn she (the baby is new to it to).
ReplyDeleteIf you have a boy, get a wipe warmer. It seems unnecessary, but it keeps the peeing incidents to a minimum :)
ReplyDeleteSleep when the baby sleeps, otherwise you'll be lacking sleep.
ReplyDeletespend quality time with each other, even if its just a cuddle on the couch.give each other a break.little things mean alot.and keep communication open.life will sort itself out in time.youll both be fine
ReplyDeleteNap when the baby naps.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteLike everyone else said sleep when the baby sleeps and accept any help that is offered. The house work can wait as long as there is clean clothes, bottles and nappies for bub. The rest will all work itself out. :)
36 years ago when my first child, my daughter, was born, my mother-n-law gave me an excellent piece of advice. Never tiptoe around a baby. Run the sweeper do everything you would normally do. Ends up best piece of advice ever. My kids could sleep through an earthquake. Thanks for this opportunity.
ReplyDeleteGet yourselves a Baby swing-it is a second pair of hands, portable & very convenient-I was a nerves wreck when I had my first baby trying to get things done-worrying about her in the other room-never getting anything done in a timely manner-because I wasted my time running back and forth checking on her-with my 2nd baby I got a swing that went every where with me-it became my best friend. And sleep when your baby sleeps.Enjoy:)
ReplyDeleteSleep when your baby sleeps.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your baby! The long nights make it seem like having a newborn will last forever but it goes so fast.
ReplyDeleteGet as much sleep as you can when baby does!
ReplyDeletejust relax~
ReplyDeletejessicawedwards@gmail.com
There's no such thing as a spoiled baby!
ReplyDeleteWhen swings and rocking just won't put a baby to sleep… swinging my baby in her carseat always seemed to work. I wound up getting a decent amount of sleep using this method.
ReplyDeletembrown4805@gmail.com
This is great!
ReplyDeleteI would say that all moms and dads should take time each day to make eye contact with their children when communicating with them.

Definitely to sleep when the baby sleeps!
ReplyDeleteTake time for yourself, do something for yourself to make you feel good. Recharge yourself by doing so and of course sleep when the baby sleeps
ReplyDeleteTake a rotation if you can so you always get some sleep--my husband lets me sleep from 9pm-1am and I pump before I do, so I always get some uninterrupted sleep.
ReplyDeleteMake sure to sleep when your baby sleeps because it is hard to get enough sleep with a baby around.
ReplyDeleteBe careful what you say around them because young kids repeat everything!
ReplyDeletejcarrturq5@yahoo.com
Cherish every moment, because children grow up fast.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I would tell new moms & dads is enjoy time you have by yourself! & make sure to take as many pictures and videos as you can because I know everybody says this, but time truly does go on super speed after having a baby. Enjoy the moments when baby just wants to be held because those don't last forever! Lol
ReplyDeleteI'd say once you get through that first week, it's all up tfrom there!
ReplyDeleteSleep when you can you will need it
ReplyDeleteSleep when the baby is sleeping!!
ReplyDeleteSleep when baby sleeps! Follow your natural instincts!
ReplyDeleteBreath! Everything will be ok. Just take it one step at a time.

ReplyDeleteEverything you need to be a good parent is inside you and God will wake it up when this baby comes and just trust it. When that cough doesn't sound right or that food smells funny or you just don't like how someone is holding your baby; It is ok to listen to that alarm inside you.
ReplyDeletedon't worry - you were made to do this!
ReplyDeleteAlways remember to take some time off for yourself!
ReplyDeleteALWAYS ACCEPT HELP!!!!
ReplyDeleteif your baby has cradle cap put some vaseline on head, it helps alot. and listen to all the other tips above, always except help from people who have children.
ReplyDeleteIf the baby can't sleep put the carrier on top of a dryer & let it run awhile or turn on vacuum cleaner.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad if you need a break, it's important for you to rest. Let the extra helping hands help while they're offering!
ReplyDeleteCherish every moment! It doesn't last forever and you will miss it when it's gone
ReplyDeletei would tell them to get as much sleep as they can
ReplyDeletecb_shorty2003@yahoo.com

ReplyDeleteSince I am a new mom I got a LOT of tips and advice from EVERYONE my son is just about to turn 5 months old so I STILL get new tips and advice... a few of the tips that I took to heart were
ReplyDelete1. sleep when the baby sleeps
2. you can never spoil a newborn baby, so hold your baby as much as you want
3. these are the best times with your baby and they go so fast, so don't stress out
4. take some time to just relax, the dishes can wait
5. DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP! Especially if people keep asking to help! TAKE THEIR HELP!! Don't be a martyr
some of the bad advice I got was
1. make a bigger hole in the nipple so I can give my baby rice in the bottle(terrible advice, don't do it)
2. start feeding baby rice at 1 month old (nooo way)
3. at 3 months you can give your baby juice!
4. just put a sugar cube in his mouth to help him sleep
5. you can put salt and pepper in his baby food if he doesn't like it
I actually got a lot of bad advice that I don't use, I always follow my pediatricians advice and ask her questions when I don't have the gut instinct.
Sleep when you have the chance! =)
